Studio

Pure Innovation is run by Pranshu Garg. You work with the designer, not a team behind one.

Product design taught me to draw things that can be made. The same discipline carries into rooms, where a contractor needs to build from the drawing, and into brands, where a business needs to run from the system.

Prototypes are printed at Hikari Creations, my separate 3D-printing studio, so a product idea can be held in the hand within days.

The name

純粋, junsui.

Japanese for pure, genuine, unmixed. It's the brief for every project: remove what isn't needed, then make what's left exact.

How I work

  • State the limit first.

Budget, site, timeline and material are fixed before the first sketch. Good decisions come from known limits.

  • Draw it so it can be built.

Every drawing is made for the person who has to build it: the carpenter, the manufacturer, the developer.

  • One idea per thing.

A desk, a room or a brand is clearer when it does one thing completely than when it does five things partly.

  • Keep what earns its place.

Material, ornament and features stay only if they do work. The rest is removed before you pay for it.

What I don't do

  • Speculative design or free concepts to win a project.
  • Projects decided by committee.
  • More than four significant projects at the same time.
